Research Analyst position available.
Established in 1991, Development Concepts, Inc. (DCI) is a development planning and real estate consulting firm located in Downtown Indianapolis. Our mission is to create innovative economic development solutions that are feasible, realistic, achievable and ultimately responsive to a community vision. Typical DCI projects include plans for downtowns, town centers, commercial developments, neighborhoods, infill developments and market studies for our public, private, and not-for-profit clients. We are currently seeking a full-time entry-level Research Analyst to complement our team. This position offers a potential for growth and is ideal for a person with an interest in development, economic development, or real estate.
The ideal candidate will have: a BA/BS in city / urban planning, economics, business, real estate, or other related field. Internship experience in a professional office setting preferred, but not required. An understanding of research skills and techniques, proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint required. Experience in Adobe Creative Suite preferred. Other attributes DCI will look for include: strong writing skills; attention to detail; professional demeanor; good work ethic; common sense; and strong interpersonal skills.
Primary responsibilities will include research and preparation of reports with development, economic and market related context. Areas of responsibility include managing economic and market data, as well as information related to trends and best practices in the fields of real estate development, economic development and redevelopment. The person will primarily work with demographic/census information, market trends, consumer preferences, real estate sales, and property ownership. Tasks will include statistical analysis, preparation of summary reports and PowerPoint presentations based on research findings; and assisting with production of proposals and reports (drafting, editing, proofing, graphics layout, etc.). A qualified candidate will have the opportunity to grow and expand his/her responsibilities.
